| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features Griðungur, the bull, one of the four Landvættir (protective spirits) of Iceland, depicted in relief at the center of the field. The Latin legend TÍU AURAR is inscribed along the upper periphery, with ÍSLAND and the date 1981 completing the circular inscription. The design reflects the traditional Icelandic iconographic program adopted for the new króna series, with a plain raised rim encircling the field. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a naturalistically rendered Atlantic flying squid (Todarodes sagittatus) in profile, oriented horizontally across the central field, its elongated mantle tapering to a pointed tail at left and its tentacles extending to the right. The large numeral '10' is prominently struck in the upper field above the squid motif, serving as the denomination indicator. Two elongated tentacles curl gracefully below the body, adding compositional depth to the design. A plain raised rim borders the entire reverse. |
