The 10 Banica is a fantasy piece tied to Croatian independence aspirations circulating in collector circles around 1990, predating the formal reestablishment of the kuna as Croatia's official currency by three years. The "banica" denomination never entered official monetary use — it appeared in various independence-era proposals and unofficial mock-ups as a diminutive of "ban," the historical Croatian unit, but was never adopted by the Croatian National Bank or any recognized issuing authority.
