10 Centimos Manresa

Manresa's cardboard emergency issues of 1938 were a direct consequence of the Republican zone's near-total collapse of small-denomination metal coinage during the Civil War. The Consell Municipal authorized local scrip because the central government in Barcelona could not reliably supply copper or brass flans to provincial towns. Cardboard was the available material, not an administrative preference.

These pieces deteriorated rapidly in everyday use, which is why surviving examples in clean, unfolded condition are genuinely scarce.
