| Beschrijving keerzijde | A sailfish leaping dynamically to the right dominates the central field, depicted with prominent dorsal fin and elongated bill in fine naturalistic relief. A stylized tropical leaf motif appears behind the fish in the upper field. The legend INDEPENDENCE 1976 curves along the upper periphery, while the denomination 10 CENTS is displayed in two lines across the lower field. The overall composition is well-balanced within the twelve-sided flan. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Seychelles gained independence from Britain on June 29, 1976, and this coin belongs to the first sovereign coinage issued by the new republic — a series designed specifically to replace the colonial issues that had circulated under the British administration. The independence coinage was prepared in advance, with the Royal Mint handling production despite the political transition away from British rule.
