Opmerkingen

The Banco Nacional de Nicaragua was itself a relatively unusual institution — incorporated in the United States under Connecticut law in 1924, with the U.S. government holding a supervisory role through the 1920s and into the 1930s as part of broader American financial intervention in Nicaragua. The 1935 series notes, including this 10 Córdobas, were produced during a transitional period as Nicaragua slowly reasserted domestic control over its banking apparatus.

Hamilton Bank Note Company handled the plate work. A smaller firm than the dominant American Banknote Company, HBNC produced quality intaglio work but operated in ABNCo's shadow — their Nicaraguan contracts represent some of their more geographically distant commissions from this decade.
