The word "BANKNOTE" runs across the top in bold letterpress, below which the large denomination legend "ZEHN DEUTSCHE MARK" is set in heavy gothic type over the issuing authority text and date. To the right, a circular guilloche rosette vignette carries the bold numeral "10" above the word "MARK", while a smaller octagonal guilloche medallion with the numeral "10" occupies the lower-left corner. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse is executed in dark green and black on a pale yellow-green ground, its entire field dominated by an elaborate central guilloche vignette comprising concentric lathe-work rosettes enclosing the large bold numeral "10", flanked symmetrically on both sides by the inscription "DEUTSCHE MARK" set within dark cartouches. Denomination numerals "10" appear in each corner within smaller guilloche medallions, and foliate sprigs occupy the lower centre. The top border carries "BANKNOTE" in spaced capitals, the lower border a statutory counterfeiting warning in small roman type, and to the right a detached green guilloche coupon medallion bears the numeral "10". |
