Beschrijving voorzijde Central field features the Arabic numeral ١٠ (10) within a raised circular cartouche. Surrounding the cartouche, the denomination is spelled out in Arabic script reading عشرة دنانير (Ten Dinars) below, flanked by decorative Arabic calligraphic legends. The upper arc bears the legend الجمهورية العراقية (Republic of Iraq) in bold Arabic script, while the lower arc carries the patriotic slogan النصر لنا (The victory is ours). The overall design is rendered in a bold, angular calligraphic style characteristic of Iraqi coinage of the Baathist period.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse depicts the Hands of Victory monument (Victory Arch) in Baghdad, rendered in relief at center, with crossed swords forming a triumphal arch above a palm tree motif. The Hijri year ١٤١١هـ and the Gregorian year ١٩٩٠م appear in Arabic numerals along the lower arc of the field, providing a dual dating convention consistent with Iraqi state coinage of this era.

Aanvullende informatie

This coin was issued the same year Iraq invaded Kuwait — August 1990 — triggering the Gulf War and the international sanctions regime that followed. Within months of its minting, the Iraqi economy was effectively cut off from global markets, and coin production of this type ceased. Most examples show minimal wear, a direct consequence of economic collapse rather than careful preservation.
