Kuwait's seventh series, of which this note forms part, was introduced incrementally from 2014 onward — the Central Bank phased denominations in across several years rather than releasing the series as a complete set. Thomas De La Rue has held the Kuwait printing contract across multiple series, an unusually stable arrangement that reflects both the country's small circulation volumes and its strict security requirements.
P#33 is among the more recent De La Rue productions for a Gulf state that has consistently insisted on high-specification security packages. The colour-shifting ink element here is optically variable — standard for contemporary high-value issues, but Kuwait's specifications have historically pushed toward the more demanding end of the available palette range.
