Obverse description At centre, a vignette of the Altun Ha Maya temple dominates the face, with a right-facing crowned bust of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Kokoshnik Tiara occupying the right field. The Coat of Arms of Belize appears at lower right, while a vignette of a queen angelfish (Holacanthus ciliaris) occupies the upper left. Reverse description The central vignette presents a large frangipani blossom, flanked to the left by a jaguar (Panthera onca) set against a palm tree. At upper right, a left-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the State Diadem is set adjacent to a carved jade head of the Maya sun god Kinich Ahau at the right margin.
