Aanvullende informatie

Issued to mark the first decade of Singaporean independence, this was among the earliest silver commemorative coins produced directly by the Singapore Mint following its establishment in 1968 — a facility built specifically so the young nation would not depend on foreign mints for its coinage. The .500 fineness is a deliberate half-silver alloy rather than the .925 or .999 standards common to prestige commemoratives, a cost-conscious choice reflecting the economic pragmatism that defined Singapore's early monetary policy under the Board of Commissioners of Currency.
