| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Trinidad and Tobago occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with mirror-like proof surfaces. The shield, charged with two sailing ships on waves, is supported on the dexter side by a hummingbird with outstretched wings and on the sinister side by a scarlet ibis in a similar pose, both birds standing on a rocky outcrop above stylised waves. The achievement is surmounted by a helmet bearing a ship's wheel and a palm tree crest. Beneath the shield, a scroll cartouche carries the national motto TOGETHER WE ASPIRE TOGETHER WE ACHIEVE in the field. The circumferential legend REPUBLIC OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO arcs across the upper periphery, with the date 1982 positioned in the lower field below the arms. |

| Reverse description | The national flag of Trinidad and Tobago is depicted in high relief at the centre of the field, shown unfurled and flying from a staff angled toward the lower left, with fine engraved lines conveying the diagonal tricolour striping of the flag's design. The denomination 10 DOLLARS is inscribed in bold raised lettering in the lower central field beneath the flag. The circumferential legend TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE arcs around the upper and lateral periphery of the coin, framing the central motif on the deeply mirrored proof field. |
