| Beschrijving keerzijde | The national flag of Trinidad and Tobago is depicted in high relief at the centre of the field, shown unfurled and flying from a staff angled toward the lower left, with fine engraved lines conveying the diagonal tricolour striping of the flag's design. The denomination 10 DOLLARS is inscribed in bold raised lettering in the lower central field beneath the flag. The circumferential legend TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE arcs around the upper and lateral periphery of the coin, framing the central motif on the deeply mirrored proof field. |

Issued to mark the twentieth anniversary of Trinidad and Tobago's independence from Britain, achieved on August 31, 1962. The proof striking in sterling silver was produced alongside a standard cupro-nickel circulation version — KM#49 — making the .925 issue a deliberate collector piece rather than a monetary instrument from the outset.
Franklin Mint handled production for much of Trinidad and Tobago's commemorative coinage during this period, a relationship common to many Commonwealth-adjacent nations that lacked domestic proof-striking capacity in the early 1980s.
