The denomination numeral '10' appears in large letterpress at upper left and lower right, with the EU flag in blue at upper left and a holographic stripe along the right margin. The multicolour guilloche underprint carries the inscriptions '10 EURO / EYPO' at lower centre, and the copyright line '© BCE ECB EZB EKT EKP 2002' runs along the top edge above a facsimile signature.

A cartographic vignette of Europe in dark brown occupies the right half, with the denomination '10' at lower left and 'EURO / EYPA' in letterpress at lower right. The serial number is printed in dark ink at upper right and repeated at lower left, with a ring of stars from the guilloche underprint visible at left.
