| Reverse description | The reverse displays a raised circular inner ring at center containing the large numeral '10' in bold relief. Above the inner circle, the denomination legend 'TEN FILS' is inscribed in capital Latin letters. The circular outer legend 'THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN' runs around the periphery in raised capital letters, with a six-pointed star ornament at the base separating the legend. The Christian year '1964' (as shown on the example coin) appears below the central circle. A toothed border frames the entire reverse field. |

Jordan's fils coinage was introduced following the country's monetary reform of 1949, when the Jordan Dinar replaced the Palestinian pound at par. The Central Bank itself wasn't established until 1964, which means the earliest coins in this date range were actually issued under the Jordan Currency Board — a technical distinction the catalog header quietly obscures.
Bronze coinage of this type saw heavy use across both banks of the Jordan River, with the West Bank under Jordanian administration until 1967.
