备注

The 1968 10 Gulden was printed by Joh. Enschedé en Zonen in Haarlem, the firm that handled virtually all Dutch banknote production throughout the postwar period. At 85 × 41 mm it was among the smallest denominations in the series by physical size, a deliberate tiering that allowed cashiers and the public to distinguish notes by touch as much as sight.

The series it belongs to — the "Portrait series" designed by Ootje Oxenaar — would launch in 1966 with the 10 Gulden as its opening entry, making this note the first Dutch issue to break decisively from the conservative, engraving-heavy aesthetic that had defined Nederlandse Bank notes since the war. Oxenaar's flat, modernist graphic approach was deeply controversial at the time.
