Obverse description Central field displays the large numeral '10' in bold relief, with the inscription 'УКРАЇНА' arching above in Cyrillic characters. The Ukrainian state emblem (tryzub) is positioned at the top of the coin, directly above the country name. The denomination 'КАРБОВАНЦІВ' curves along the lower portion of the field in Cyrillic lettering. The entire design is framed by an ornate decorative border of stylized foliate and scrollwork motifs rendered in relief, giving the piece a distinctly folk-art character.

Additional information

Ukraine's 10 karbovantsiv denomination revives a currency name last used during two distinct periods of national monetary independence: briefly after the 1917 revolution under the Ukrainian People's Republic, and again during the post-Soviet transition of 1992–96 before the hryvnia replaced it. Issuing a coin under that name in 2025 carries deliberate political weight, particularly against the backdrop of ongoing war with Russia.

The colorization on brass is a modern minting technique increasingly used by the Ukrainian Mint for commemorative issues, applied after striking via pad printing or lacquer transfer.
