Gefleborgs Enskilda Bank was one of the provincial private banks operating under Sweden's enskilda bank system, which permitted note issuance against capital reserves and the personal liability of shareholders. That liability clause was not decorative — when banks failed, shareholders were on the hook. Gefleborgs survived long enough to be absorbed into the consolidating national framework, but notes from the mid-1870s represent the system near its peak, just before the Riksbank began systematically squeezing out the provincials.
Pick #180 is sparsely documented, and confirmed surviving examples are uncommon in the dealer market.
