正面描述 Intaglio portrait of Bogyoke Aung San (1915–1947), Burma's national independence hero, at centre, flanked by a Chinthe mythical lion-guardian as a symbolic motif. Burmese script inscriptions identify the issuing authority and denomination, all contained within an ornate guilloche border frame.

备注

Burma's 1958 issue came three years after the country's first post-independence monetary reorganization, when the Union Bank assumed full central banking functions from the earlier State Commercial Bank structure. Thomas De La Rue's involvement here is worth noting — the firm had printed Burmese notes since the early independence series and maintained that contract through several successive governments, a relationship that persisted despite Burma's increasingly non-aligned political posture under U Nu.

P#48 is the single-watermark security variant; collectors should distinguish it carefully from the related series issues, as catalog conflation is common with this decade's Burmese output.
