| Obverse description | At left, a seated Basotho woman in traditional dress and beaded ornaments is rendered in intaglio in deep rose-red tones over a multicolour guilloche underprint of interlocking diamond patterns. The central cartouche carries the Lesotho coat of arms within an ornate rosette, flanked by the legal tender inscription and the denomination TEN MALOTI with the date below; CENTRAL BANK OF LESOTHO runs across the top in serif letterpress.
