Amagasaki Domain occupied a small but strategically placed territory in Settsu Province, and its han札 (hansatsu) were among the more tightly controlled feudal currency issues of the Edo period. The 1777 date places this note squarely within the tenure of the Okabe clan, who governed Amagasaki through most of the eighteenth century. Domain authorities typically restricted hansatsu circulation to within their own borders, which kept redemption manageable but also meant notes rarely survived outside the issuing territory.

The "without additional print" designation distinguishes this from otherwise identical notes that received supplementary stamps — often applied during revalidation drives when domains needed to extend a currency's authorized circulation period without reissuing entirely.
