Wasserleben is a village in the Harz foothills, and this 10 Pfennig Notgeld is exactly what you'd expect from a municipality that size — a small-run emergency issue produced to plug the catastrophic coin shortage that gripped Germany from around 1916 onward. A. W. Zickfeldt in nearby Osterwieck was a regional jobbing printer who handled a significant volume of local Notgeld commissions across the surrounding districts; their work is competent but unambitious.
The DeNG reference places this within a well-catalogued series, which at least gives collectors a reliable anchor for attribution.
