正面描述 Oval vignette at left with a portrait of Lady Hazel Lavery, draped in a dark shawl and posed against a landscape background, rendered in intaglio. A letter prefix in a circle appears at upper left and lower right, flanking the central bilingual bank title and denomination. The £10 value is displayed in a guilloche cartouche at lower centre, with two manuscript signatures below the issuer inscriptions and a date printed in red at lower right.

备注

The "Ploughman" series, of which this is the highest denomination, was introduced in 1928 and ran with remarkably little change through the war years. Ireland's neutrality during the Second World War had a quiet practical consequence: Waterlow & Sons in London continued printing Irish currency throughout the conflict, the supply chain surviving intact while continental European printing relationships collapsed elsewhere.

Brennan served as Currency Commission chairman before the Central Bank was established in 1943 under the Currency Act — meaning this note sits at the precise administrative transition between the two institutions, with McElligott signing as the new bank's first Governor.
