| 备注 |
South Sudan became an independent state on 9 July 2011, and the Bank of South Sudan moved quickly to establish a national currency — the South Sudanese Pound replaced the Sudanese Pound at par within weeks of independence. This note was part of that inaugural series, making it among the earliest paper money issued by one of the world's newest countries. Thomas De La Rue handled the contract, as they did for several other newly independent African states across the twentieth century.
The security specification is notably thin for a De La Rue product of this period — watermark and electrotype only, without a security thread.
