| Obverse description | The Peruvian national coat of arms, enclosed within a beaded inner circle, occupies the central field. The shield is divided into three quarters depicting a vicuña, a cinchona tree, and a cornucopia, surmounted by a civic wreath and flanked by laurel and palm branches tied with a ribbon at the base. The circular legend BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERU runs along the upper periphery, with the date 1969 appearing in the lower exergual area. A small mint privy mark (owl) is visible below the shield. |

| Reverse description | Two stylised fish rendered in pre-Columbian Chavín artistic style are depicted in the lower half of the field, arranged in opposite directions to form a dynamic, interlocking composition. The large numeral 10 dominates the upper centre of the field. The curved legend DIEZ SOLES DE ORO arcs along the left and upper periphery, completing the denomination inscription. The design draws on ancient Peruvian iconographic traditions, lending the coin a distinctly cultural character. |
