| Beschrijving voorzijde | Vertically oriented cashier's cheque format note issued by Shun Woo Bank (信和銀號) of Macao. The upper portion bears the English bank name within a decorative architectural vignette flanked by two human figures, with revenue stamps affixed at top centre. Below, the body of the note carries Chinese text in vertical columns indicating the denomination of ten dollars (銀拾圓整), with the value numeral $10 repeated in oval cartouches at left and right margins. The Shun Woo Bank was a small private Chinese bank operating out of Macao during the early Republican period, when dozens of such institutions issued their own notes with minimal regulatory oversight. The Pick 141 is one of the scarcer entries from this category — Macao-issued private Chinese bank paper from the 1930s survives in far lower quantities than comparable notes from Shanghai or Canton, partly because Macao's commercial banking sector remained modest and note runs were correspondingly small.
Few institutional records from the Shun Woo Bank have been documented in Western or Chinese numismatic literature, which makes provenance and print-run data difficult to establish with confidence.
