The Polska Krajowa Kasa Pożyczkowa — the Polish State Loan Bank, originally established under German occupation during the First World War — was still functioning as Poland's primary note-issuing authority into 1923, long after independence. By the time this 100,000,000 Mark note was printed, Polish hyperinflation had made such denominations almost immediately obsolete upon issue. The zloty reform of 1924 wiped out the marka entirely, at a conversion rate of 1,800,000 marek to one new złoty.
Pick 41 is one of several extreme high-denomination notes rushed out in the final phase before stabilization.
