Reverse description A central engraved vignette presents the Parliament building in Tiraspol, framed by the large numeral «100000» in bold typeset that flanks the architectural scene. A multicolour guilloche underprint covers the field, with the denomination rendered in words across the lower register and a vertical «100000» repeated along the right margin. An overprint in red reproduces the original lower denomination of the base coupon note.

Comments

Transnistria's 1996 high-denomination notes arrived during a period of chronic hyperinflation that had already forced the breakaway republic through multiple redenominations in the early 1990s. The Pridnestrovian Republican Bank was operating an entirely unrecognized monetary system — no IMF membership, no correspondent banking relationships — which meant printing contracts were arranged through unofficial channels rather than established security printers.

The 100,000 rouble figure reflects cumulative inflation rather than any single crisis event. Within a few years it was rendered obsolete by yet another redenomination, making circulated survivors of this specific denomination genuinely harder to find than uncirculated stock.
