Opmerkingen

This note belongs to the short-lived Cruzeiro series reintroduced in March 1990 under the Collor Plan — one of the most aggressive monetary shock programs in Brazilian history. President Collor's government froze approximately 80% of all private financial assets overnight, meaning enormous quantities of newly printed Cruzeiro notes sat locked in bank vaults rather than circulating freely. The 100 Cruzeiros denomination was effectively obsolete within two years as inflation continued to erode purchasing power.

The print run of just over twelve million is modest by Brazilian standards of the period, when hyperinflationary conditions routinely demanded replenishment runs of nine-figure quantities for higher denominations.
