Beschrijving keerzijde Central motif depicts an interior architectural view of Ksar Kabaw, a historic fortified granary (qasr) located in the Nafusa Mountains of northwestern Libya, rendered in fine relief. Above the architectural vignette, a latent image security feature alternately displays a star or a crescent depending on the viewing angle. The Latin legend 'Central Bank of Libya' is inscribed along the lower portion of the reverse field. The overall composition reflects Libya's cultural and architectural heritage within a clean, modern coin design.

Aanvullende informatie

Libya's 2014 coinage was issued during one of the most unstable periods in the country's post-Gaddafi transition, with two rival governments — the Tobruk-based House of Representatives and the Tripoli-based General National Congress — each claiming legitimate authority over the state's institutions, including the Central Bank. That the bank managed to commission and distribute new coinage at all during this period is itself notable.
