Reverse description The reverse is devoted to the theme of medical innovation. At centre, a vignette shows a researcher in a laboratory coat working at a microscope modelled on the Carl Zeiss Axioplan 2, with a DNA double-helix strand rendered to its right. Below the central vignette runs an electrocardiogram trace, beside which an early insulin bottle is placed, referencing one of Canada's most celebrated medical contributions. At left, the denomination and a mirrored reflection of the holographic strip are visible, while at right the reverse face of the maple leaf-shaped transparent window appears with the denomination below.
