Obverse description An intaglio portrait of King George VI is set within an oval vignette at right, framed by an elaborate guilloche border in red and green tones. The left panel carries a large numeral '100' underprint vignette, with the date '1st January 1942' at lower left and the Chairman's signature at lower right. Bilingual legends in English and Jawi script run across the centre, with serial numbers at upper right and lower left.

Reverse description The central vignette presents the combined arms of the Straits Settlements and the Federated and Unfederated Malay States, incorporating the armorial bearings of Trengganu, Kedah, Kelantan, Johore, Perlis, Brunei, Perak, Pahang, Selangor, and Negri Sembilan, rendered in multicolour intaglio. The composition is enclosed within an ornate guilloche frame with intricate latticework surround. The issuer's name appears in the border inscription.
