Barbados introduced polymer-adjacent security upgrades across its late-1990s issues without abandoning cotton paper, and this note sits at that transition point: metallic foil and a see-through register grafted onto a substrate De La Rue had been supplying to the island for decades.
P#59 had a short window — replaced as the Eastern Caribbean region pushed toward more aggressive anti-counterfeiting specifications after 2000.
