| 裏面の説明 | Central relief vignette portrays a rugged coastal or island landscape with rolling terrain and open sky, rendered in bold embossed relief against the 23K gold foil ground. To the left, an oval cartouche bears the national coat of arms of Antigua and Barbuda, while a portrait medallion to the right presents a female effigy, likely a royal or allegorical figure. Denomination numerals '100' appear in ornamental cartouches at each corner, and the independence commemoration legend is inscribed below the top border. |

Antigua and Barbuda gained independence on 1 November 1981, and this note was issued in direct connection with that event — a commemorative piece rather than a circulating instrument. The use of .999 fine silver laminated against 23-karat gold foil places it firmly in the tradition of numismatic legal tender issued for collector markets, with no serious expectation of handling or circulation.
Alan D'Estrehan designed the piece locally. Whether the actual fabrication was done domestically or contracted abroad is not firmly established in standard references.
