Obverse description The Armenian National Coat of Arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield supported by an eagle to the left and a lion to the right, with a sword, a chain, and an olive branch below. The denomination '100' in large numerals with 'ԴՐԱՄ' (Dram) in Armenian script appears beneath the arms, and the date '1997' is inscribed in the lower exergue. The circular legend in Armenian script reads 'ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ' (Republic of Armenia), flanked by two small ornamental rosette stops at the lower quarters. The design is executed in proof quality with a highly polished field contrasting with frosted relief elements.

Reverse description A finely detailed naturalistic depiction of a Caucasian otter (Lutra lutra meridionalis) rendered in high relief, shown in a characteristic arched posture atop a partially submerged rock, its head turned downward to the right as if inspecting the water surface below. Stylized rippling water fills the lower field. The circular legend in the upper portion reads '• WWF CONSERVING NATURE '97 •' in Latin script, while the lower legend combines Armenian script 'ԿՈՎԿԱՍՅԱՆ ՋՐԱՍԱՄՈՒՅՐ' and Latin 'CAUCASIAN OTTER', separated by a bullet stop. The composition is part of the WWF wildlife conservation commemorative series.
