Belgium's P#147 100 Francs was among the last generation of franc-denominated notes before euro adoption rendered the entire series obsolete at the end of 2001. The design commission went to Kenneth Ponsaers, a Belgian graphic artist whose work on this series marked a deliberate shift away from the classical intaglio-heavy tradition that had defined NBB output for decades — Benoît Gregoire's engraving work is present but subordinated to the overall graphic concept rather than driving it.
The short issue window of 1995–1997 means the date range on surviving notes is narrow, but the notes themselves circulated until euro changeover.
