| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Dahomey is centrally displayed, flanked by the country name REPUBLIQUE DU DAHOMEY arching above. The date 1971 appears at the top of the field, while the commemorative legends marking the tenth anniversary of independence (1er Août 1970, 10ème Anniversaire) are inscribed across the field. The national motto FRATERNITE JUSTICE TRAVAIL is rendered below the arms, with the denomination 100 FRANCS CFA and the fineness mark 999,9 situated near the lower rim.
