Obverse description The national coat of arms of Niger occupies the central field, depicting a shield charged with a sun above crossed spears and a millet stalk, flanked by stylised vegetation. The legend REPUBLIQUE DU NIGER arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin characters, while the denomination 100 FRANCS CFA is inscribed along the lower rim. Niger's "Kiwi" gold issues belong to a class of fractional coins produced almost entirely for the collector market, with no meaningful domestic circulation — Niger has no native kiwi population and no cultural connection to New Zealand's national bird. The series was struck under contract, as Niger itself operates no mint.

At 0.5 grams of .9999 gold, the piece contains just under one sixty-fourth of a troy ounce.
