| Obverse description | At left, an intaglio vignette of a cassowary standing in native vegetation rendered in green-brown tones. To the right of centre, a portrait of Queen Juliana of the Netherlands in an oval frame, printed in intaglio with fine line engraving. The upper field carries the inscriptions NEDERLANDS NIEUW-GUINEA and HONDERD GULDEN in bold letterpress, with the denomination numeral 100 repeated at both right corners and a guilloche underprint across the central field.
