A fantasy note with no issuing authority behind it — "Bank Van Nederlands Ceylon" is a fiction, combining Dutch colonial nomenclature with a geography that never produced such an institution. These pieces occupy an awkward corner of the hobby: too well-made to ignore, too invented to catalog seriously. Franck Medina's polymer productions from this period were sold openly as novelty items, not as currency substitutes, which keeps them on the right side of counterfeiting law in most jurisdictions.
