Issued to mark the October 2011 marriage of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Agyem Yangdon Tobjgay, this note was the Royal Monetary Authority's first commemorative banknote — an unusual step for an issuer that had traditionally kept its currency strictly functional.
