Obverse description Plain typeset note with a decorative outer border and a vertical rectangular vignette at left inscribed 'CIEN PESOS' in ornate script. At centre, a circular stamp reads 'POR EL DECRETO DE LAS CAMARAS LEJISLATIVAS' surrounding the text 'VALE CIEN PESOS' with the date partially completed in manuscript. The heading 'NUMERO' with a handwritten serial number appears at top centre, and the note bears three manuscript signatures below the printed titles of the issuing officials.

The Estado de Honduras issued paper currency in the 1840s under conditions of chronic fiscal stress, with the central government struggling to maintain basic administrative functions after independence from the Federal Republic of Central America collapsed in 1839. A 100 Peso denomination at this date suggests emergency or quasi-treasury issuance rather than conventional banking — Honduras had no formal central bank in 1848.

Pick 6 is exceptionally rare in any condition. Few examples have been documented in major auction records.
