| Opis awersu | The obverse is printed in dark brown ink on aged paper, with a rectangular border of fine geometric lathe-work. A central vignette in the left field depicts a harbour or port scene with vessels and smoke, enclosed within an octagonal frame. To the upper right, a small oval cartouche bears a coat of arms. The denomination CIEN appears in a panel at the top, the large numeral inscription CIEN Pesos in bold script at centre, and the lower corners each carry the numeral 100.
