| 裏面の説明 | The reverse is printed entirely in orange intaglio and dominated by a central geometric guilloche rosette flanked by two symmetrical lozenge-shaped lathe-work vignettes, each enclosing a floral rosette. The overall composition is enclosed within a scalloped border of intricate engine-turned scrollwork. REPÚBLICA DE HONDURAS appears in a banner across the upper portion, with BILLETE ADUANERO in a corresponding banner at the lower centre; the printer's imprint AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY is printed in small letters at the bottom margin. |

Honduras issued 100-Peso notes through the República — rather than a central bank — because no such institution existed yet. The Banco Central de Honduras wasn't established until 1950, meaning the government itself was acting as direct issuer well into the twentieth century, an arrangement that gave individual series like this one an unusually direct political character.
The American Bank Note Company handled most of Central America's high-denomination printing during this period, often reusing engraved plate elements across regional clients. P#165B designates a signature variety within the 1927 series, indicating at least one earlier signing configuration exists — worth confirming against the specific signature block before cataloging.
