Obverse description Central oval vignette of General Francisco de Paula Santander in military uniform, set against elaborate guilloche underprint in rose and green. The denomination numeral '100' appears in large ornate panels to each side, with serial numbers printed in red above. Inscriptions read 'EL BANCO DE LA REPÚBLICA' across the top, 'BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA' and the date at lower left and right respectively, with 'SANTANDER / PAGARÁ AL PORTADOR' and 'CIEN PESOS ORO' along the lower margin.
