Cuba struck a small number of gold pattern pieces in 1977 commemorating the centenary of Lenin's death — or rather, the Soviet ideological calendar that Cuba had tied itself to following the 1972 admission to Comecon. Patterns of this type were produced in extremely limited quantities, never entered circulation, and were almost certainly minted as diplomatic gifts or internal approval pieces rather than for any public release.
The absence of KM or JMA catalog numbers confirms this piece has not been formally attributed in either Krause or Cuban specialist literature, placing it firmly outside the documented issue sequence.
