Opmerkingen

Issued to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, this is one of the higher-denomination commemorative notes Jersey has produced — £100 being the ceiling of the island's circulating series at that time. Jersey's currency authority operates independently of the Bank of England, giving the States the discretion to issue commemorative notes that never appear in UK domestic circulation.

De La Rue's involvement is unsurprising; they have printed Jersey's notes continuously for decades. Security features on this issue are relatively modest for the denomination, with no hologram or color-shifting ink — reflecting Jersey's conservative approach to its low-volume, low-counterfeiting-risk currency rather than any production shortcut.
