Obverse description The complete coat of arms of the Republic of Seychelles is centrally displayed in the field, featuring a quartered shield supported by a swordfish and a tortoise, surmounted by a white-tailed tropicbird crest, with the motto ribbon inscribed FINIS CORONAT OPUS in the exergue of the arms. The circular legend REPUBLIC OF SEYCHELLES arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 1978 appears at the bottom, flanked by two raised dots.

Reverse description Two white-tailed tropicbirds (Phaethon lepturus) are depicted in dynamic flight across the central field, their elongated tail streamers extending gracefully to the right, with a stylised sea rendered in low relief occupying the lower portion of the field and clouds visible in the upper right background. The denomination 100 is inscribed in large numerals to the lower right of the field, with RUPEES legend beneath in a smaller font, both in raised relief against a mirror-like background.
