| Beschrijving keerzijde | A seven-branched menorah on a stepped pedestal occupies the central field, flanked on either side by a full olive branch extending from base to rim. Above the menorah, two rampant lions flank an open Torah scroll, forming a heraldic device. The denomination 100 appears at the bottom center above the Hebrew שקל (shekel) and the Latin legend SHEKELS, all set within the lower portion of the field. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Issued under the Coins and Medals Law of 1963, this was part of Israel's earliest serious foray into gold commemorative coinage — a category the young state approached cautiously given gold's fraught political weight in a country still absorbing Holocaust survivors for whom confiscated gold had an entirely different meaning. The 36-gram weight was set to align with international bullion coin conventions of the period, making the piece attractive to foreign collectors and investors rather than domestic circulation.
The X# prefix in the reference confirms its status outside regular monetary issue — struck for sale, not spending.
