Reverse description The central device displays the Somali coat of arms: a quartered shield bearing a five-pointed star, surmounted by a mural crown with five turrets, and supported by two rampant leopards facing inward. Below the shield, crossed spears and a palm frond are tied with a ribbon. A semicircle of five-pointed stars flanks the supporters on either side. The denomination 100 SHILLINGS is inscribed along the lower periphery in Latin characters, with Arabic legends arcing across the upper field. The date 1965 appears to the right of the reverse field.
