Reverse description A bold, high-relief draped bust of Joshua Abraham Norton I, self-proclaimed Emperor of the United States, faces the viewer in a three-quarter portrait, attired in a military-style uniform with epaulettes. The legend JOSHUA ABRAHAM NORTON curves along the upper rim. The birth year 1818 appears to the left of the effigy and the issue year 2018 to the right, each flanked by a five-pointed star. The MP COINS maker's mark appears in the upper right field, and the engraver's facsimile signature R. Cooper is inscribed in the lower right field. Along the lower rim, the legends NORTON I, 200TH ANNIVERSARY, and EMPEROR OF USA - PROTECTOR OF MEXICO are inscribed.

Additional information

Molossia, a micronation occupying roughly 1.3 acres of Nevada desert, has issued coins since 1999 with the Valora pegged to a decidedly unconventional standard: the Pillsbury cookie dough tube. This piece is a test plating — a production sample used to verify adhesion and finish quality before committing to a full strike run, not a coin struck for circulation or collector release.
